Panasonic HDC-TM20K High-Def Flash Memory Camcorder

The Panasonic HDC-TM20 SD/16 GB HDD camcorder records very good quality, saturated and sharp video while shooting in daylight or indoors at daytime. Like pretty much all camcorders in this range, in very low light the video is a bit grainy, although still useable.

It’s light and fits easily in your hands but doesn’t feel tacky or fragile. Easily slips in a pocket to carry around and ready to use quickly. The time from pushing the on button to when it’s ready to start shooting is under 2 seconds. Great for conserving battery life. And it switches off automatically if pointed at the ground and not deliberately kept recording.

Canon VIXIA HF S100 HD Flash Memory Camcorder with 10x Optical Zoom

This is probably the smallest camcorder you can get without sacrificing video quality in any way. It is amazing how small this camcorder is while still having a professional grade lens.

Pros:

One.) The video picture quality is frankly amazing.

Two.) The auto open and close lens cover is great. It opens only when you are actually taking filming. If the camera is off or if you are reviewing it immediately closes.

Three.) The menus are very easy to navigate.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H20/B 10.1 MP Digital Camera

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H20/B has a super steady shot – and is excellent for fast motion shots. It has tons of neat settings to allow you to catch the perfect shot. The macro and close up capability has amazing detail – and the zoom quality is quite incredible.

While you are learning the features of the camera, leave the setting on to give you detailed info on the little icons indicating what they do. Once you know all the features you want to use then you can turn it off.

You can edit peoples faces ON the camera to make it look like they were smiling! How cool is that? Another great feature is the ability to set priority face recognition so that it will focus on the person you want it to when you’re shooting pictures, that way the person you want is always in clear.

ContourHD – HD Helmet Camera by VholdR

No wires, no separate recorder, no separate microphone, a tiny 4 ounces. Simply mount the ContourHD where you want to capture the action and go.

Whether it’s mounted it on the side of a skateboard, on the rear foot peg on your street bike or on your helmet as you snowboard, you’ll hardly notice its presence.

Even though the video is possibly not quite real HD, it’s still leagues (and I mean LEAGUES) ahead of anything that is out there for this amount of money (and most of the stuff that costs at least twice as much… ). If you’ve been disappointed in the quality of video of helmet cam tried until now, this device is worth every penny. Buy this camcorder as soon as you can!
