Once you use the Kodak Easyshare Z915 you’ll be truly impressed by the clear, sharp images from a relatively inexpensive camera. This camera follows the Kodak mantra “easy to use”, with easy to read and use buttons, and a setting dial on the top which makes switching between shooting modes simple.

This camera is great for someone who just wants to point and shoot, or someone who wants to try artistic things with their photography. This camera works great in automatic and also provides lots of setup options when you like to go manually.

It’s comfortable to hold, fits easily in a belt pouch, or pocket and really is a very simple to use point and shoot. Like all digital cameras it does need to have the shutter held half in for a moment to focus, else you will be frustrated with blurred shots.

The video mode allows you to zoom in and out while shooting, and like most digital cameras the sound is not always quite what you would like it to be if recording in a noisy area, or too far away from the camera.

If you travel a lot, or can't easily get to your computer port, or just will be out for the day and need to recharge your Flip camcorder part way through, then this might just be the answer you needed.

The Flip Video Power Adapter is a particularly handy option for travelers and others who are away from their computers for long periods of time.

If you are around your computer and have the USB connection handy then this isn’t really needed. However if you travel a lot, or can’t easily get to your computer port, or just will be out for the day and need to recharge your Flip camcorder part way through, then this might just be the answer you needed.

Doesn’t take long to get a full charge into the camcorder, you can plug your Mino or MinoHD straight into the Flip Video Power Adapter, but will want a battery pack with the Flip or FlipHD.

For those on the go all the time you may find the Essential Kit for the Pure Digital Flip Video UltraHD includes a Car and Wall Charger - Gomadic Brand w/ TipExchange Technology to be even more useful. This will allow you to charge your Flip Video between stops as you are travelling in the car, and then overnight to be ready for first thing in the morning.

For any family hoping to videotape the kids, friends, events, etc the Flip MinoHD is the ideal camcorder to use. It’s durable, easy to use, picks up both immediate sound, and background sound as well.

The MinoHD is completely idiot proof: when you get the box, there is absolutely no assembly required. The right buttons for on, record, and USB connector are easy to find without needing to read the instruction book.

With the all-new Flip MinoHD, it-Feets now even easier to capture incredible HD video and share it with the world. A really thin , pocket-sized design means you can take your MinoHD with you everywhere you go.

Sound recording is even better on the 2nd Generation than on the original, and the brushed metal finish means there’s no finger prints to make it look tacky.

Like all of the lower cost camcorders the video is a little grainy inside under low light conditions, but nothing to complain about considering the price and convenience.

You may find the built in USB can be a bit fiddly to get to work. Just something to watch for. If you hold it at the right angle as you connect it then it will plug in, but many have tried and been frustrated with the connections. Instead you might try the Kodak Zi8 HD Pocket Video Camera.

If you have a problem ring Flip support and get a USB connector cable (they’ll send for free if you ask) if you decide to go with the Flip MinoHD. Or even just pick up a USB 2.0 port at your local store for a few dollars and your problem will be fixed.

In general, as an easy to use, pretty good quality camcorder, the MinoHD will be there when you want it, and get the immediate shots you just don’t want to miss and wouldn’t have time to get a bigger bulkier camcorder out and set up for.

To help you with framing your distance photo’s the addition of the extra zoom capability will delight you. It’s not the top of the range with zoom speed and doesn’t have automatic image stabilization like some of the more expensive lenses available, but as an interim lens, at a good price, to use and get quite good framing for distance shots it’s quite acceptable.

Make sure you use a tripod for best picture clarity, and as always good lighting will help with picture quality.

One thing lacking from the lens is a lens cap. To maintain the condition of your lenses you really do need to make sure they have caps. The cap is available separately, and isn’t too expensive.

The Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 it doesn’t have USM (Ultra Sonic Motor) and though having built-in AF motor, it does seem slow. And since telephoto lenses are often used for capturing high-speed events (like sport, running animals etc), its low-speed focusing can make it a bit frustrating when trying to capture the perfect shot.

If this is important to you and you can justify the extra price, then the Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM Telephoto Zoom Lens for Canon SLR Cameras will feel like a better investment. The zoom speed is noticeably quicker with the USM, and so for action shots the clarity will be better and more satisfying.

In summary, if you are a hobbyist who just wants some extra zoom reach for still shots, then you will get plenty of use from this lens and probably be quite happy with it. If you want to capture action shots or do a lot of photography in changing light conditions then it will be frustrating and it will be worth upgrading to the Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM for better quality, quicker zoom, and sharper photos.

This is a smaller pocket sized camera, that still takes AA batteries, inexpensive SD memory cards and still delivers fantastic photos with all the features.

The still and video capture both work well in both bright light and low light.
When playing the sound back via the camera it is hard to distinquish, but fine once it is uploaded.

Its 3.6 optical zoom may not be able to pick sand off an eagle’s beak at a thousand yards. So it won’t blow up to billboard size without a loss of definition. But as a real world everyday camera this is a fine and professional level camera that will do a far better job than you expected. Much better than just using a cell-phone.

Just to mention a few features, have you ever taken a shot to discover your subject blinked? This camera lets you know. Yes, this camera sees when your subject blinks, and lets you know, using the Smart Portrait system.

This camera also automatically fixes your red-eye special. You’ll never have to see red eye again. It finds faces, and automatically focuses on them, up to a dozen at a time. It can also snap the shutter automatically when someone finally dares to smile. The D-lighting will also save those details otherwise lost in darkness.

The panorama assist is great. You can take a series of photos in a row in either of four directions (left to right, up and down, etc.) overlapping by one third (The rule of thirds grid which you can bring up on the LCD is great, keeping the camera straight and well composed), and then join them with the included software into one long (or tall) file.

With the built in macro mode you can zoom right in on a cactus blossom from two inches away and have perfect focus. Take a photo of a baby’s toes and blow them up to 16×20. This strength of macro was recently unimaginable, and yet here you have this power within a humble, tiny and inexpensive package.

This camera also comes with the standard sized screw input for mounting on a tripod. You will really appreciate the steadiness a tripod always brings, and the freedom, no less with this great camera, which so thoughtfully has a tripod screw-in.

This camera also has great recording ability, just to top everything off.

A great camera at a small price, it could even be considered underpriced.

There are a huge number of Digital SLR’s available now to choose from. The downside of having so many options, though, was trying to decide which one was right.

The camera body is fairly small, making it easy to carry and hold. The control layout is very intuitive which is good for those of us who want to pick up a camera and just start using it.

Like all Canon DSLRs this camera takes great photos and the kit lens that it comes with is a great lens for a DSLR in this price range. It is a DSLR and so has great picture quality, and you can do lots with it especially if you know how to manipulate Raw format.

There is basically no shutter lag at all, fantastic when you are just moving up from a point and shoot that does have a noticable lag. It has fast autofocus and an intuitive menu/user interface.

This camera gives a great photo in Full Auto most of the time. You don’t need to be an expert at all. Just hold still and press. And if you want to learn to use the manual settings then you can get some really awesome shots and use lots of extra effects.

The Panasonic HDC-TM20 SD/16 GB HDD camcorder records very good quality, saturated and sharp video while shooting in daylight or indoors at daytime. Like pretty much all camcorders in this range, in very low light the video is a bit grainy, although still useable.

It’s light and fits easily in your hands but doesn’t feel tacky or fragile. Easily slips in a pocket to carry around and ready to use quickly. The time from pushing the on button to when it’s ready to start shooting is under 2 seconds. Great for conserving battery life. And it switches off automatically if pointed at the ground and not deliberately kept recording.

Sound recording quality is astounding- I could not believe the recording in 5.1 channel sound when played back. With the extra microphones it creates a realistic sound that’s a perfect match with the true-to-life HD images.

With the Panasonic HDC-TM20 SD/16 GB HDD camcorder, a new high-performance Leica lens makes it possible to pack a powerful 16x zoom into a compact body.

The cool touch-screen lets you operate a variety of functions intuitively without taking your eyes off of the subject on the LCD screen. They are easy to use and not too confusing.

Compared with other camcorders around similar price you won’t get much better quality both with video and sound in most conditions. As a light convenient camcorder it really stands out.

For recording for an all day trip you will want an extra battery and another SD Card to make sure you capture all the special moments.

Pros:

One.) The video picture quality is frankly amazing.

Two.) The auto open and close lens cover is great. It opens only when you are actually taking filming. If the camera is off or if you are reviewing it immediately closes.

Three.) The menus are very easy to navigate.

Cons:

One.) It doesn’t come with a battery charger. You either have to buy one or recharge batteries using the camcorder itself.

Two.) This camera only comes with the BP-809 battery which doesn’t even last an hour. So you will need to buy the BP-827 which costs another $150.

This camcorder is basically a professional lens barrel with an LCD on the side which gives you the best picture quality possible while keeping the size incredibly small. I cannot encourage you enough to get this camcorder.
