The MinoHD is completely idiot proof: when you get the box, there is absolutely no assembly required. The right buttons for on, record, and USB connector are easy to find without needing to read the instruction book.

Like all of the lower cost camcorders the video is a little grainy inside under low light conditions, but nothing to complain about considering the price and convenience.

You may find the built in USB can be a bit fiddly to get to work. Just something to watch for. If you hold it at the right angle as you connect it then it will plug in, but many have tried and been frustrated with the connections. Instead you might try the Kodak Zi8 HD Pocket Video Camera.

If you have a problem ring Flip support and get a USB connector cable (they’ll send for free if you ask) if you decide to go with the Flip MinoHD. Or even just pick up a USB 2.0 port at your local store for a few dollars and your problem will be fixed.

In general, as an easy to use, pretty good quality camcorder, the MinoHD will be there when you want it, and get the immediate shots you just don’t want to miss and wouldn’t have time to get a bigger bulkier camcorder out and set up for.

To help you with framing your distance photo’s the addition of the extra zoom capability will delight you. It’s not the top of the range with zoom speed and doesn’t have automatic image stabilization like some of the more expensive lenses available, but as an interim lens, at a good price, to use and get quite good framing for distance shots it’s quite acceptable.

Make sure you use a tripod for best picture clarity, and as always good lighting will help with picture quality.

One thing lacking from the lens is a lens cap. To maintain the condition of your lenses you really do need to make sure they have caps. The cap is available separately, and isn’t too expensive.

The Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 it doesn’t have USM (Ultra Sonic Motor) and though having built-in AF motor, it does seem slow. And since telephoto lenses are often used for capturing high-speed events (like sport, running animals etc), its low-speed focusing can make it a bit frustrating when trying to capture the perfect shot.

If this is important to you and you can justify the extra price, then the Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM Telephoto Zoom Lens for Canon SLR Cameras will feel like a better investment. The zoom speed is noticeably quicker with the USM, and so for action shots the clarity will be better and more satisfying.

In summary, if you are a hobbyist who just wants some extra zoom reach for still shots, then you will get plenty of use from this lens and probably be quite happy with it. If you want to capture action shots or do a lot of photography in changing light conditions then it will be frustrating and it will be worth upgrading to the Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III USM for better quality, quicker zoom, and sharper photos.

The camera body is fairly small, making it easy to carry and hold. The control layout is very intuitive which is good for those of us who want to pick up a camera and just start using it.

Like all Canon DSLRs this camera takes great photos and the kit lens that it comes with is a great lens for a DSLR in this price range. It is a DSLR and so has great picture quality, and you can do lots with it especially if you know how to manipulate Raw format.

There is basically no shutter lag at all, fantastic when you are just moving up from a point and shoot that does have a noticable lag. It has fast autofocus and an intuitive menu/user interface.

This camera gives a great photo in Full Auto most of the time. You don’t need to be an expert at all. Just hold still and press. And if you want to learn to use the manual settings then you can get some really awesome shots and use lots of extra effects.

The biggest positive about this Sony Cyber-shot camera is its consistently good picture quality and performance. It’s like a mini-dslr because you can switch it to Manual mode and you can adjust the aperture and shutter speed so you can do panning as well. A small camera that really works.

It’s a compact camera that fits neatly in a bag, or into a large pocket. It’s not as small as some of the slimline cameras but with the extra zoom capability you will forgive it the extra size.

The battery life is also impressive, as long as you keep your screen on a regular bright setting. If it’s on super bright then it will go down much quicker, but it is rechargeable so you don’t have to keep buying batteries.

If you are going to take lots of video you will need more memory, but you’ll get around 30 minutes on a 2 Gig card sot it’s got to be LOT’s before it will really worry you.

Another useful feature is that you can press the play button when the camera is switched off to view the photos on the camera without having the lens come out. Also while switched off just plugg it into your pc with the supplied USB cord and retrieve the photos. You can use the supplied photo cd but it’s not mandatory.

It’s a very solid camera with many useful features and very nice quality pictures, especially during the daytime and in bright sunny conditions. Very versatile with lots of great features, even just set to auto the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H20/B digital camera can go from feathers on a bird from 25 yards(10x) to a bug on your sleeve (1/2″ away) without pushing any buttons.

The zoom is fantastic, even with recording action shots the focus is pretty hard to mess up. and the time delay recording and animated thumbnails are really fun to play with.

The playback is great, I love that you can flip the screen around and fold it back in during watching, with an convenient rewind button right next to it. All the buttons are easy to access, not that there are too many to get confused with.

The SMX-C10 does not feature internal memory and you will need to purchase SD/SDHC media when you get the camcorder. It does though offer substantial battery life, providing more than two hours and forty minutes of record time on a single charge which is more than enough for most situations.

The one-touch “upload” button, available directly on the SMX-C10, provides the user a direct connection to YouTube, so reduces the number of steps needed to upload footage. In addition, the camcorder also allows basic on-camera editing, including the ability to merge and split video files.

One downside is that it has no still photo capability which is a little disappointing.

All in all – for under $150 with the features it has you will be hard pressed to find a sleeker and better performing camcorder than the Samsung SMX-C10 Touch of Color Camcorder with 10x Optical Zoom (Red).

You will need to read the manual as there are a number of settings that need to be adjusted to go from outdoors to indoors and still get great photos, but once you get the hang of it, the P90 takes just awesome photos.

The video on it is limited, maybe not quite as good as some of the other point and shoot cameras, but still photos are definitely right up there in quality.

It has a huge 24x zoom, the equivalent of 26-624mm on a 35mm film camera. And at smaller picture sizes, the optical zoom becomes MUCH greater, maybe 1000mm or more. On the other end of the scale (26mm), the P90 gives a wide field of view that allows you to capture most things that you might want.

The other area the P90 shines in is taking macro pictures (such as of flowers), especially with the tilting LCD. You’ll have no trouble getting the P90 to focus correctly in macro mode, and the new manual focus is also a welcome addition, as is the much larger LCD monitor.

The Nikon Coolpix P90 features list goes on: you can crop, rotate, and/or retouch pictures in camera while reviewing them, as well as the real-time red-eye correction, blink warning, etc.

You may need extra memory and batteries to keep up with the number of photos you can easily take with this great little camera.

Displaying your pictures on the digital frame only takes three easy steps.

1. Simply remove the memory card from your camera,
2. insert the card into the frame and
3. view your photos.

There is no need to upload and edit your pictures on a computer.
